Deep in the woods of the Drents-Friese Wold lies the Diever Hiding Cave. During the Second World War, a group of resistance fighters from Diever dug a striking sand hill, built a cave of pine trunks and restored the hill to its old shape. After a few months of hard work, the hideout was ready and several resistance men disappeared underground .
