Sand in your shoes and a head full of stories
At Park Drentheland, we turn every day of vacation into an adventure for kids! We love watching them play with sand and water, build imaginary worlds, and make new discoveries together. Plus, there’s plenty of space to get active: rollerblading through the park, biking around, or racing on a go-kart.
That’s why we’ve come up with all kinds of fun extras especially for our young guests. For example, kids can build their own hut in our animal adventure forest, use our go-karts for free, and real adventurers can go on a treasure hunt in the sandbox.
Go-Karts
There are a number of go-karts available for general use at our park.
The only rule is that you must always return the go-kart to the front desk or the playground, and not park it on a path or near your lodging/camping spot.
This way, all children can use them for free without inconveniencing other park visitors.

Treasure Hunt
The sandbox by our front desk is actually a real gold mine!
An old treasure map indicates that a forgotten treasure is buried right where this sandbox is located. If you dig carefully, you can still find beautiful little gemstones there, and if you look really hard, you might even find little nuggets of gold!!
Building Huts
The Animal Adventure Forest—the forest right behind the park that’s still owned by Park Drentheland—is the perfect place to build huts. As you walk through it, you’re sure to see some great huts that other kids have built. You can finish those off or start your own hut in a different spot!
Hours of fun guaranteed!
