A Horseback Vacation in Drenthe

More than 100 kilometers of horseback riding trails in the Drents-Friese Wold take you through forests, across heathlands, and past ponds. An unforgettable experience for you and your horse! And what could be better than spending the night with your horse in the heart of nature? That’s possible at Park Drentheland. Our vacation park has its own equestrian facilities with luxury stalls, pasture access, a large all-weather outdoor riding arena, a covered horse walker, and a wash area. This way, your horse will also enjoy an unforgettable vacation!

Please note: A vaccination record or passport is required, including proof of the correct vaccinations. If these are missing, access to the stables may be denied.

Enjoying nature with your horse

Drenthe is an ideal destination for a vacation with your horse. Here, you can enjoy nature undisturbed. Just a stone’s throw from Park Drentheland, you’ll find a special wading pond for horses and dogs. Perfect for cooling off on those hot summer days! Plus, going on vacation with your horse is a wonderful adventure to experience. First and foremost, it strengthens the bond between you and your horse, since you spend so much more time together. A vacation with your horse also offers the perfect escape from the daily grind. Riding through the nature of the Drents-Friese Wold and enjoying the beautiful surroundings helps you relax and reduces stress.

A comfortable stay for you and your horse

A beautiful vacation home or a nice camping spot for you and a luxurious stay for your horse—it’s all possible at Park Drentheland. Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool with a separate toddler pool, perfect for both adults and little ones. Sports enthusiasts can burn off some energy on the tennis court. For a relaxed game, try the bocce court or challenge your family to a round of mini-golf. You won’t get bored anytime soon at Park Drentheland!

These include horse competitions, as well as clinic days and professional photo shoots of your horse at the Spartelvijver.

Various horseback riding trails are available at the front desk. For example, the 27-kilometer day trail mapped out by the Weldadig Oord Foundation, which is well-signposted: “Discover the Trail of the Desperados.” Are you already looking forward to a vacation with your horse?

"We had a wonderful vacation. Such peace and quiet. We rented a cottage with a fenced-in yard, which was ideal for our dog. Our horse had a nice stall with plenty of straw and hay. She also had her own pasture. We went on lovely walks and bike rides with the dog and the horse. You can go on beautiful trail rides with the horse. The dog got to swim in the pond. At the park, you could order bread rolls from the bakery, which you could pick up at the front desk in the morning. You could also get pizza or fries in the evening. Everything was well organized."

Our vacation park borders the Drents-Friese Wold, where you’ll find countless trails across the Kale Duinen, through the forest, and along sand drifts. You can ask at our reception desk for recommendations on scenic routes.

✤ How many horses can your park accommodate?

Our park can accommodate up to 39 horses thanks to our 39 luxury horse stalls. Each stall is prepared for you upon arrival with fresh straw and hay, and has its own section of pasture where your horse can go outside.
