Cycling and Hiking in the Drents-Friese Wold

The best way to explore the province of Drenthe is by bike or on foot. With its 6,100 hectares, the Drents-Friese Wold is the second-largest forest and heathland area in the Netherlands. It’s a stunningly beautiful region where you can fully enjoy nature.

In addition, you can stop by picturesque villages and towns along the way, visit informative museums, or explore adventurous attractions (including those for children). 

At the reception desk of our vacation park, you’ll find hiking and biking routes and handy maps of the area—ranging from a short outing with the kids to a full-day trip through the National Park. Our park staff will be happy to help you choose a suitable route.

Didn’t bring your own bikes but still want to enjoy a wonderful day out cycling? No worries: Park Drentheland also rents bikes! The selection includes 7-speed bikes, e-bikes, and children’s bikes. Child seats are also available. If you’d rather go on a rugged and sporty bike ride on an ATB, mountain bikes are also available at the front desk.

Tip: At junction 59, visit the Onderduikershol inDiever. Deeply hidden in the forests of the Drents-Friese Wold.
