About Jan Kruis

More Than Just “Jan, Jans, and the Children”

Jan Kruis became best known for the comic strip “Jan, Jans, and the Kids.” In this comic strip, he captured a snapshot of everyday Dutch family life with lively drawings and a colloquial style all his own. Who doesn’t know the “you-know-what hangover” and “hi, pipeloi”?

In this museum, you’ll see that Jan was not only a comic strip and advertising artist but also a versatile visual artist. He also created beautiful portraits and illustrations of figures such as Woutertje Pieterse.

Come Draw with Jan

Choose who you want to draw and then join in. The Red Tomcat or Catootje, but also Jans and Grandpa!

There’s plenty of paper, pencils, and markers.

Fun for kids and adults alike!
