 Zoo Bizar in Orvelte

The Smallest Zoo in the Netherlands

Zoo Bizar is a mini-zoo, creatively set up on the grounds of an old Saxon farm in the museum village of Orvelte. It’s the smallest zoo in the Netherlands—and perhaps even in Europe! Here, you can admire various small (exotic) animal species in a unique setting. Because of its small scale, you can always come face-to-face with the animals that live there. Many animals are housed in open enclosures. There’s always one of our staff members on hand who can tell you all about these unique animals and their bizarre habits.

Combine a visit to Zoo Bizar with a trip to the ancient village of Orvelte. Orvelte is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. Orvelte is a centuries-old esdorp that originated in the 10th century. The historic farmhouses and the streets, with cobblestones and old clinker bricks, give the village a unique atmosphere. O
