On Wednesday 23 December, Park Drentheland will turn into a charming winter wonderland! During our Lichtjestocht, enjoy a walk with Christmas stories, music and a fun treasure hunt along the way. Soak up the cosy atmosphere and, of course, enjoy tasty snacks and hot drinks at the outdoor bar.

A lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit with family, friends or the children.

Christmas markets are among the most delightful winter outings. Browse stalls filled with Christmas decorations, gifts and local produce, enjoy seasonal treats and soak up the festive atmosphere.

Drenthe also has a variety of charming Christmas markets and winter fairs to visit.

Our tips:

Kerstmarkt Eext – visit the charming Christmas market on the village green on 19 and 20 December.

Winterfair in Orvelte – discover the winter atmosphere in this distinctive village during the winter fair on 28 and 29 November.

Fun indoor activities for cold winter days

Is it cold or raining outside? No problem! Drenthe has plenty of fun activities for an enjoyable day indoors.

Visit a museum, go swimming, enjoy a game of bowling or discover an indoor play centre. An escape room or another indoor activity is also a fun way to share a special experience.

Our tip: plan a varied programme during your stay, with a winter walk one day and a fun indoor outing the next.

Activities in Drenthe

Enjoy nature in winter

The countryside around Park Drentheland is beautiful in winter too. Put on your walking boots and enjoy a refreshing walk through the Drents-Friese Wold, or hop on your bike and discover the peaceful winter landscape.

With a little luck, you will find yourself walking through a fairy-tale landscape. Afterwards, it is lovely to return to the comfort of the park.

Your dog is welcome too, so you can enjoy a winter holiday surrounded by nature together.

 

Winter camping at Park Drentheland

Enjoy a Christmas break with a difference

Why only go camping in summer? Camping in winter has its own special charm. Enjoy the peace and quiet, the fresh air and the pleasure of getting away together.

At Park Drentheland, you can also enjoy winter camping during the Christmas holidays. Explore the surrounding area, visit a Christmas market or join our Lichtjestocht on 23 December.

After a wonderful winter's day, return to your own camping pitch and enjoy the peace and space of the park.

Practical information

The water supply is turned off during periods of frost. Your pitch will therefore not have its own water point available. Please bear this in mind when planning your winter camping stay.
