Discover the dog-walking forest right behind Park Drentheland

Did you know that Park Drentheland has its own piece of forest?
Dogs are more than welcome here; you can even bring three dogs! And what could be better than taking a lovely walk with your four-legged friend, right from the park?

Just beyond the park’s fence, separated only by a narrow road, you’ll step right into our very own dog-walking forest. Here, you can stroll peacefully among the trees and enjoy nature. If you follow the path to the left, you’ll pass the Twee Provinciën. Turn right at the bend there, and in less than a kilometer you’ll find yourself in the Drents-Friese Wold, with a beautiful off-leash area where your dog can run and play freely. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a handy map at the reception desk so you’ll know exactly where you can walk.

Please note: In our forest, just like in the rest of the park, you’re required to pick up after your dog. This is because the trails are also used by hikers and children following the animal discovery trail. Together, let’s keep the forest clean and pleasant for everyone!

This autumn: discover the Drents-Friese Wold with your dog!

Join ecologist Hans for a walk with your dog through beautiful natural surroundings, the off-lead area and, of course, the dog paddling pond!
